<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The following is a breakdown of the all the program implementation steps identified by staff <br />and the Colorado Water Congress to date: <br /> <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board <br /> <br />2000 Education Initiative <br /> <br />Task: <br />Contract with Learning to be Water Wise <br /> <br />$50,000,00 <br /> <br />CD Production <br /> <br />$17,500,00 <br /> <br />Internet information and evaluation** <br /> <br />$5,000_00 <br /> <br />Education Coordinator ** <br /> <br />$15,000.00' <br /> <br />Water's WayslEarth <br />Educators** <br /> <br />$30,000.00 <br /> <br />Grand Total <br /> <br />$117,500.00 <br /> <br />(*Indicates another source of funds may be used) <br />(**Indicates that the task is in the process of being completed_) <br /> <br />The Colorado Water Congress Education Subcommittee, chaired by Tom Cech, has met <br />several times to discuss implementation issues, As the result of these discussions they have <br />recommended the hiring of a water education expert named Nancy Kellogg. Attached is a draft scope <br />of work I intend to use to contract for her services through June 30, <br /> <br />In addition, many members of the Subcommittee have been very impressed with a water <br />education curriculum called Water's Ways, Priority areas of emphasis for this program will be the <br />Rio Grande, Arkansas and South Platte River Basins, Dave Munk and the Learning to be WaterWise <br />resources are being focused in Granby, Fort Collins, Greeley, Boulder, Denver, Durango, Bayfield, <br />Grand Junction, Delta, and Eagle, <br /> <br />The Subcommittee will not meet again until January 24_ At that time, the Subcommittee is <br />expected to provide guidance about how to expend the remaining funds and discuss future steps if the <br />initiative is to continue.
