<br />" <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />to the Lower Basin, which the Department of the Interior has stated imposes <br />"no firm or fixed obligation that 8.23 million acre-feet be released each year <br />from Lake Powell"; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The Colorado River Compact calls for 75 million acre-feet <br />to be deliver~d to the Lower Basin on a 10-year running average plus <br />one-half of any deficiency to the Mexican Treaty delivery, while the CllITent <br />10-year running average is over 100 million acre-feet; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Continued and on-going drought conditions in the Upper <br />Basin and increased precipitation in the Lower Basin requires review ofthe <br />8.23 million acre-feet release from Glen Canyon Dam by the Bureau of <br />Reclamation contained in the Bureau's CllITent Coordinated Long-Range <br />Operating Criteria during times of shortage; now, therefore, <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Belt Resolved by theHouse of Representatives of the Sixty-fifth General <br />Assembly of the State afColorado, the Senate concurring herein: <br /> <br />That the Colorado General Assembly urges the Secretary of the Interior <br />and the Commissioner of the Bureau of Reclamation to: <br /> <br />1. Significantly reduce annual water deliveries from Lake Powell for <br />water year 2005, given the CllITent drought conditions in the Upper Basin <br />and record and near record precipitation in the Lower Basin, to a level that <br />will maximize storage in Lake Powell while providing adequate deliveries <br />to satisfY compact obligations; and <br /> <br />2.
