Walcher <br />Executive Director <br /> <br />Contracts and Financinl! <br />Dan McAuliffe <br />The grant awards and contracts between the Colorado Water Conservation Board, Colorado Deputy Director <br />Water Congress, and the Colorado Foundation for Water Education were signed and <br />approved by the attorney general and state controller in late December 2002. Funds transfer to the Water <br />Congress was initiated on December 31, 2002. <br /> <br />Administration <br />The Foundation has secured office space on the fourth floor of the 1580 Logan Building, Denver. At some <br />1,289 sq. ft., this space provides a good-sized conference room, reception area, workroom, and two offices. <br />This space will allow the Foundation to grow, and provides an excellent central location. Staff will move into <br />this space sometime in mid-February 2003, when renovations are complete. <br /> <br />The Foundation is also currently looking for donations of office furniture and equipment. If Board members <br />!mow of anyone who might be interested in this type of tax-deductible contribution, please contact Executive <br />Director, Karla Brown. <br /> <br />Other administrative actions have included: submission of IRS applications for tax-exemption, logo <br />development, and development of board policies. <br /> <br />Educational Pro!!rams <br />The Foundation has initiated the first in what will be a series of Citizens Guides. These guides will be <br />published on a regular basis, and will cover a variety of topics. They are designed to be simple-to-understand <br />guides that may also serve as reference materials. The frrst of these guides will be published in February <br />2003, titled the "Citizens Guide to Colorado Water Law." Authored by Justice Greg Hobbs, this publication <br />is currently out for peer review. The second guide in the series will address groundwater and groundwater <br />hydrology. <br /> <br />The new Foundation web site is under construction. The Foundation is currently receiving bids from various <br />designers. It is planned that the site will offer on-line shopping for educational products, a calendar of <br />educational events and conferences, links to other sites, and information about the Foundation.
