BASIS FOR INSTREAM FLOW RECOMMENDATION

· The DOW documented that a natural environment is present in the form of a brown and brook trout
e fishery_
· Based on the DOW's biological recommendation, flows of5.5 cfs, summer, and 1.75 cfs, winter, are
necessary to preserve the natural enviromnent to a reasonable degree.
· CWCB staff has conducted a water availability analysis and determined these amounts are available for
the Board's appropriation.
· CWCB staff has determined that adequate w~er supplies exist such that the natural environment may be
preserved without limiting or foreclosing the exercise of valid existing water rights.
