COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD
INSTREAM FLOW RECOMMENDATION SUMMARY REPORT

e

Stream:
County:
ISF ID#:

Cache Creek'
Chaffee
95/2/A-OIO

Division:
Watershed:
DOW Code #:

2
Arkansas River
33112

INSTREAM FLOW RECOMMENDATION

Flow (cfs):

Upper
Terminus:

3.00 (5/1-10/14)
1.50 (10/15-11/30
1.00 (12/1-4/30)

Length (miles):

4.4

conll unnamed tributary at
lat 39 02' 04"N long 106 20' 10"W

Lower
Terminus:

conll Arkansas River in
SE SW 831 T11S R79W 6PM

USGS QUAD(s):
BASIS FOR INSTREAM FLOW RECOMMENDATION

Granite

e.

.

The DOW documented that a natural environment is present in the form of a brook and rainbow trout
fishery.
Based on the DOW's biological recommendation, flows 00 cfs, summer, and 1.5 cfs, winter, are
necessary to preserve the natural enviromnent to a reasonable degree. However, the winter instream
flow recommendation was reduced to 1.0 cfs (12/1-4/30) based on the water availability analyis. The
DOW believes the lower flow recommendation will still preserve the natural enviromnenl.
CWCB staff has conducted a water availability analysis and determined these amounts are available for
the Board's appropriation.
CWCB staff has determined that adequate water supplies exist such that the natural enviromnent may be
preserved without limiting or foreclosing the exercise of valid existing water rights.

.

.

CONSULTATIONS:

DOW: Jay Skinner

8/1/96

DWR: Steve Witte

8/1/96

CWCB STAFF

ePrepared By: Uppendahl

1/15/98

Reviewed By: Espegren

1/15/98
