Ten wells feed into a 1.5 million gallon above ground storage tank, constructed in 1996, for treatment and <br />distribution. Given the low production of the existing well, this project will add 2 new wells with 8,300 linear feet of ductile <br />iron transmission lines to the town's existing system The Town of Akron is looking to have the wells operational by spring of <br />2005. Currently the project is approximately 75% complete. <br /> <br />29. Dolores Water Conservancy District - WETPACK <br /> <br />Authorization: <br />Water Source: <br />Tenns of loan: <br /> <br />SB 01-157 <br />Dolores River <br />$7,260,000@3.50% for 30-years <br /> <br />County: Montezuma <br />Project Yield: 7,840 acre-feet <br />Project Type: Distribution System <br /> <br />The District's WETPACK (Water for Everyone's Tomorrow Package) proposal is intended to better manage the <br />available resources of the Dolores Project to provide an additional 3,300 acre-feet of water for the fishery below McPhee <br />Dam, increase municipal water supplies, and to provide water of the irrigation of additional lands. This project involves a <br />system of pipelines, pumps, and related facilities to deliver water to the District's Dove Creek Canal system for the <br />irrigation of 4,000 acres of new lands that are presently dry land farmed. Water will be delivered to irrigators in pipes <br />under pressure for sprinkler irrigation only. Harris Water Engineers, of Durango, Colorado, is the planning and design <br />consultant for the project. Construction is tentatively scheduled to commence in the fa\Vwinter of2004/05. <br /> <br />30. Parker Water and Sanitation District - New Reservoir Construction <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Authorization: Construction Fund <br />Water Source: Cherry Creek <br />Tenns of loan: $15,000,000@4.75%for20-years <br /> <br />County: Douglas <br />Project Yield: 16,200 acre-feet <br />Project Type: Reservoir Construction <br /> <br />The Parker Water and Sanitation District is currently in the design phase to construct the Rueter Hess Project for <br />the storage of municipal water for its 7,924 customers. The new reservoir will provide terminal storage for use within the <br />District's existing 8,596-acre service area. The reservoir will be located 3 miles southwest of Parker on Newline Gulch. <br />The proposed reservoir will be a Class I structure, 135 feet high, impounding approximately 16,200 acre-feet of water. <br />GEl Consultants, Denver, Colorado, will be putting together the final design and construction documents. Major land <br />purchases have been completed and the project design has bee completed and is ready for bid. Rueter Hess Reservoir is <br />scheduled to commence construction in the summer of 2004 with completion anticipated in summer of 2007. <br /> <br />31. .Mancos Water Conservancy District - Canal Rehabilitation <br /> <br />Authorization: Severance Tax Perpetual Account <br />Water Source: West Mancos River <br />Terms of loan: $5,486,531 @2.80% for 30-years <br /> <br />County: Montezuma <br />Project Yield: 9,000 acre-feet <br />Project Type: Canal Rehabilitation <br /> <br />The Mancos Water Conservancy District supplies irrigation and municipal water within a 13,496 acre service area. <br />The District's carriage facility is over 50-years old and the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation has recommended rehabilitation of <br />the inlet and outlet canals. The proposed project is to rehabilitate inlet and outlet canals to the Jackson Gulch Reservoir <br />and to replace its operational shops and headquarters. Design engineering is scheduled to be complete in 2004 with <br />construction to following in 2005. The District anticipates having the entire project complete by 2014. <br /> <br />32.
