Lake Meredith Reservoir Company - Lake Meredith Rehabilitation Project <br /> <br />Authorization: <br />Water Source: <br />Terms of Loan: <br /> <br />Construction Fund <br />Arkansas River <br />$1,000,000 @4.00% for 30-years <br /> <br />County: Crowley- Near Ordway <br />Project Yield: 41,000 acre-feet <br />Project Type: Reservoir Rehabilitation <br /> <br />The Lake Meredith Reservoir Company stores water in Meredith Reservoir for agricultura~ municipal, domestic, and <br />other beneficial uses. The Colorado Canal fills the reservoir, which has its headgate, located on the Arkansas River. This <br />project involves the relocation of approximately 5 miles of outlet canal to allow the Reservoir Company to utilize an additional <br />18,000 acre-feet of storage, which is currently in a dead pool. The Reservoir Company is applying for an additional $471,500 <br />in loan funds to complete the project due to cost ovenuns. The project is currently under construction and is anticipated to be <br />complete in October of2004. <br /> <br />17. Stieb Brothers - Well Augmentation Project <br /> <br />Authorization: Construction Fund <br />Water Source: South Platte Basin <br />Terms of Loan: $151,500@2.5% for 30-years <br /> <br />County: Logan - Near Sterling <br />Project Yield: 6,000 acre-feet <br />Project Type: Well Augmentation <br /> <br />The Stieb Brothers is a private family fann located approximately 10 miles north of Sterling, near the Town of Iliff, <br />where they irrigate 723 acres with 12 sprinklers. These 12 wells are currently augmented under the Groundwater Appropriators <br />of the South Platte (GAS.P.) The Stieb Brothers have been using GASP to replace depletions from their well pumping when <br />there is a senior water right call on the river. In order to keep their sprinklers running in the summer months the Stieb Brothers <br />plan to construct 2 wells to pump water to a recharge pond in the winter months when there is no call on the river. Water from <br />the ponds would seep into the ground and retum to the river at a delayed rate and recharge the river during the critical summer <br />months. Authorization: The project is currently undet comtruction and is scheduled to be complete by October of 2004. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />18. Windsor Reservoir and Canal Company-Annex No.8 and Windsor No.8 Dredging <br /> <br />Authorization: SB 96-153 <br />Water Source: Cache La Poudre <br />Terms of Loan: $681,750@4.IS% for 30 years <br /> <br />County: Larimer- N. ofFt. Collins <br />Project Yield: 620 ac. ft. <br />Project Type: CanallRes. Rehabilitation <br /> <br />The Windsor Reservoir & Canal Company (WRCC) is in the process of recovering 620 acre-feet of storage in <br />their Windsor Reservoir No.8 and No. 8 Annex, by excavating and removing up to 1,000,000 cubic yards of sediment. <br />The WRCC service area extends from their Cache la Poudre diversion north of Fort Collins east to near the town of Galeton <br />northeast of Greeley, generally bounded by the Eaton Ditch and the Greeley Ditch No.2 Ditch. The total area encompassed <br />is almut 86,000 acres, providing water for irrigation for about 55,000 acres. Project construction commenced in April of <br />2003 and was shutdown for summer irrigation. The project resumed in OctoberlNovember of 2003 and is anticipated to be <br />completed by October of 2004. <br /> <br />19. Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company - System Rehabilitation <br /> <br />Authorization: S8-97-008 <br />Water Source: Lost Canyon Creek <br />Terms of Loan: $300,000@3.75% for 30-years <br /> <br />County: Montezuma - NE of Cortez <br />Project Yield: 4,287 ac. ft. <br />Project Type: Reservoir and Ditch Rehab. <br /> <br />This $270,000 project is the rehabilitation of the Summit Reservoir Dam outlet works and the repair and <br />improvements to the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company's water collection and distribution facilities. The Cortez <br />office of Natural Resource Conservation Service prepared the construction plans and specifications. Construction for the <br />Walker Drops improvements commenced in March of 1999, by Noland, Inc., of Mancos, CO., and was completed in July <br />of 1999. The second to last phase of the project was completed in October of2001. That final remaining phase of the <br />project is anticipated to be complete by the spring of 2005. <br /> <br />27 <br />
