Topographic Base Mapping <br /> <br />1. Work Map. The work map shall be a line <br />drawing showing contours and topographic <br />features or an orthophoto map showing contours <br />on a photographic background. Work maps wi th <br />a photographic background prepared by <br />conventional rectification methods which meet <br />the accuracy standards described herein shall <br />be acceptable. <br /> <br />2. Features. The following minimum information <br />shall be shown on the work maps: <br /> <br />a. Natural features such as <br />depressions. trees and vegetation. <br /> <br />hills. <br /> <br />b. Cultural features such as streets, roads. <br />highways. railroads. airfields, levees. <br />dikes. dams. buildings, fences, <br />powerlines, and other prominent man-made . <br />features and landmarks. <br /> <br />c. <br /> <br />as rivers. <br />irrigation <br />(including <br /> <br />Hydrologic features such <br />streams, lakes. reservoirs, <br />ditches. canals. and channels <br />both banks of a stream). <br /> <br />d. Reference features such as north arrow, <br />grid lines. section corners. reference <br />monuments. corporate I imi ts, contours and <br />spot elevations. <br /> <br />e. <br /> <br />Geographic <br />notations <br />natural. <br />reference <br /> <br />orientation and appropriate <br />such as names o'f principal <br />cultural. hydrologic, and <br />features. <br /> <br />The work map may contain. but is not required <br />to show. property lines and section lines. <br />Fences. power lines. trees, and vegetat ion in <br />platted areas may be omitted if it would <br />improve clarity. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />-8- <br />
