You can also fmd this information directly by <br />visiting hrt1J://www.usbr.gov/omts/rivers/awards/SNODAS/SNODAS CO hist.html. <br /> <br />Owens Announces Appointees To Wildlife Commission: Gov. Bill Owens has appointed Robert W. <br />Bray of Red vale and Richard H. Ray ofPagosa Springs to the Colorado Wildlife Commission. <br /> <br />Bray operates a sheep, cow/calf, and yearling ranch, located in San Miguel and Montrose counties. Bray <br />will serve as a Republican appointee and as a representative of the livestock production industry. <br /> <br />Ray has owned and operated the Rocky Mountain Wildlife Park since 1986. Ray has also been a Colorado <br />guide and outfitter since 1970. He has also represented the Colorado Outfitters Association to the <br />Colorado Wildlife Commission for 11 years. Ray will serve as a Democratic appointee and as a Colorado <br />sportsman. <br /> <br />Gwen Benevento Named Chief Counsel To Owens: Gwen Benevento has been named Chief Counsel to <br />Gov. Owens. Benevento had been serving as Deputy Legal Counsel since August 2002. She replaces <br />Cynthia Honssinger who accepted the position of Chief Deputy Attorney General. <br /> <br />Benevento received a bachelor's degree in political science from Colorado State University. She received <br />her law degree from the University of Colorado. She previously served as a senior policy advisor to <br />Senator Wayne Allard. <br /> <br />Map Modernization: Weare negotiating new study starts in Mesa County and Pueblo County Colorado. <br />We welcome the additional horsepower that Karen Price provides the Flood Protection Staff. <br /> <br />FEMA Mapping Coordinator hired hy CWCB: The CWCB has hired a new contract person to assist <br />with the FEMA Map Modernization Initiative. The Flood Protection Program is excited to bring Karen <br />Price to the Flood Protection Program. <br /> <br />Karen Amrhein Price, CFM, has held many roles within the Federal Emergency Management Agency's <br />(FEMAs) National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). As Colorado's Floodplain Mapping Coordinator (a <br />role funded by FEMA's Map Modernization Management Support Program), Ms. Price facilitates the <br />Digital Flood Insurance Rate Map (DFlRM) mapping process by keeping engineers and GIS specialists <br />from communities, counties, consultants, the State, and FEMA connected and moving forward on State <br />mapping activities. Her previous work on the Mapping Coordination Contract provided her a broad <br />experience base through management of the NFIP Special Projects Team. Under her oversight, this team <br />drafted responses to inquiries and letters from citizens, communities, and States to FEMA; created and led <br />a national Certified Floodplain Manager training program; developed training programs and outreach for <br />a variety ofNFIP-related issues; performed Mapping Needs Assessments (MNAs) and updated FEMA's <br />MNA database for hundreds of communities; and performed Letter of Map Change (LOMe) reviews. <br />Ms. Price also assisted multiple FEMA Regions and States with a comprehensive data compilation and <br />analysis to prioritize funding for mapping updates. In addition to NFIP-related work, Ms. Price has also <br />managed several public involvement efforts for transportation-related projects in Colorado. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />17 <br />
