<br />. <br /> <br />Proposed ISF Appropriations-Supplemental Information: At the January Meeting you asked us to <br />provide a list of water rights above and below the proposed instream flow appropriations. To <br />accommodate this request, a tabulation of water rights for each stream basin has been provided. In <br />addition, Staff has produced a series of maps depicting the proposed instream flow segments and the <br />location of nearby water rights. This information has been published on the cWCB's website. Please feel free to contact Todd Doherty at 303- <br />866-3945 or by email.todd.dohertvlalstate.co.us. if you have any questions regarding this information. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Summary of the ISF Workshop: A summary of the workshop is attached. <br /> <br />Rick Anderson Report Review: The DOW's proposed 2-D modeling approach remains under review by <br />the Upper Colorado River Recovery Implementation Program. One round of comments has been <br />provided to Mr. Anderson and response to those comments provided back to the Biology Committee. It is <br />hoped that the Biology Committee will now consider those response at their next meeting. <br /> <br />Reclamation to Brief Colorado Legislature: On Mar. 15, Deputy Commissioner Mark Limbaugh, <br />Upper Colorado Regional Director Rick Gold and Lower Colorado Regional Director Bob Johnson are <br />scheduled to brief the Joint Agricultural Committee on Colorado River Reservoir operations and related <br />issues. We will provide additional information about this briefing at the Board meeting. <br /> <br />NRLC Conference: The Natural Resources Law Center Annual June Water Conference will be held June <br />8-10,2005, and will be entitled: "Hard Times on the Colorado River: Drought, Growth and the Future of <br />the Compact." The CWCB is a sponsor of the Conference and registration forms are available at the <br />NRLc's website: hrt1J:/ /www.colorado.edu/law/centers/mlc/ <br /> <br />Water Quality Update: The next Water Quality -Water Quantity Coordination Meeting is scheduled for <br />April 7. <br /> <br />The Water Quality Forum met on Jan. 24,2005. Among the issues discussed were emerging <br />contaminants and wastewater reuse regulations. Rick Brown also provided an update on Statewide Water <br />Supply Initiative findings and the next steps of the process. <br /> <br />The agenda for the Water Quality Control Commission meeting of March 2005 includes two rulemaking <br />hearings: Bear Creek Watershed Control Regulations and Discharge Permit System Regulations. The <br />WQCC will consider revisions to these regulations. <br /> <br />CSU Engineering Internship Fair: On Feb. 24, Anne Janicki, Dan Merriman, Tom Browning and Ray <br />Alvarado attended an Internship Fair at CSU sponsored by the Departments of Civil Engineering and <br />Chemical Engineering. The purpose of the fair was to provide students with an opportunity to learn more <br />about agencies and companies in Colorado and to explore potential employment opportunities. Numerous <br />state and federal agencies. and private companies were represented. The event was very well attended with <br />over 150 students participating. Many of the students expressed an interest in CWCB's programs and <br />provided resumes to staff for consideration. <br /> <br />December 2004 Water Court Resume Review Process: After reviewing all the water court resume <br />notices published in December 2004, Staff reviewed approximately 31 water court applications filed in <br />December 2004 that potentially could injure instream flow water rights. Based upon that review, Staff <br />filed statements of opposition to 15 applications, included in the March 2005 consent agenda. <br />Additionally, Staff was able to achieve protection ofthe Board's ISF water rights without filing <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />15 <br />
