Sen. Bennett (R-UT) has expressed his desire to sponsor the bill and is working to enlist
the support of Sen. Allard and other senators. Rep. Hansen (R-UT) has also expressed .
his desire to help Rep. McInnis organize members of the U.S. House of Representatives.
To that end, it would be helpful for the CWCB to re-express its support for this effort. I
will also be working with the new Acting DNR Executive Director to provide any
information he, and Gov. Bill Owens, may need before they too can express their support
for this effort.

A conference call among members of the Ad Hoc Subcommittee has been scheduled to
further discuss this effort on Feb. 9, at 9 am:
I.

The proposed agreement, paving the way for a loan of state funds to construct capital
projects designed to enhance fish recovery, among the CWCB, Reclamation and Western
was also discussed. Members of the Colorado River Energy Distributors Association
(CREDA) have been provided with copies of the proposed agreement. A meeting to
further discuss this issue has been scheduled for Feb. 25 in Salt Lake City. CREDA
members are particularly interested in discu~~irig interest rates.
. .r:
*.ii#

.

, .

.
