<br />SECTION 729, WATER RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT ACT OF 1986
<br />RIO GRANDE BASIN, CO, NM, AND TX
<br />
<br />General., Section 729 of WRDA 1986 authorizes the Corps to study the needs of river basins and regions. The
<br />authority is similar to the standard Corps General Investigations program in that a reconnaissance study is done
<br />at full Federal expense, followed by a feasibility study which is cost shared SO/SO by the non Federal sponsor.
<br />In FY 01 funds were appropriated to carry out a study of the Rio Grande basin (CO, NM, and TX) under this
<br />authority.
