However, the Flood Control and Floodplain Management
Section staff has been very business responding to "Floods of 1997" assignments and all
the flood mitigation recovery activities.

Attached is the draft "Scope of Work" for the Extreme Precipitation Investigation
Project. A formal project review is scheduled for May 4th with the interest parties, which
will be after this writing. I will brief the Board regarding any project review concerns
and issues.

We plan to advertise and get this project under contract in June 1998. Please be advised
- You will note that I have re-drafted the project specifications and requirements to meet
the original completion date for the project. By making this change I feel that the State
will not lose any of the project benefits for water resource planning and floodplain
management activities.

A:extrerne precipcwcbmemo
