The estimated total cost of the project is $67,000. Please see the
attached project summary and map. .

Backqround
The RDAEC, located in Chaffee County, operates the Riverside Ditch/Allen Extension Ditch for
the benefit of its shareholders by providing delivery of water for irrigation within a 420-acre service
area. The system consists of a headgate on the Arkansas River about 7 miles north of Buena
Vista and seven miles of ditch. Three trestles, built in 1940, cross several creeks and arroyos.
These trestles are in poor condition and leak badly. The Company asked the NRCS to evaluate
these trestles and design an alternative. RDAEC plans to replace the trestles with buried pipeline
in fall 2002.

Feasibility Studies
The Company has completed the feasibility study with input from the NRCS. The report includes
an evaluation of alternatives available for rehabilitation of the canal.

The Riyerside Ditch and Allen Extension Company
The RDAEC is a Colorado non-profit Ditch Company registered in the State of Colorado. There
are 18 shareholders and 1450 shares of stock. The RDAEC has the power to set annual
assessments to be paid by the shareholders and the power to refuse to deliver water to
shareholders that fail to pay their assessments.

Water Riqhts
The RDAEC owns water rights totaling 29 cfs from the Arkansas River with priority numbers 98,
135, and 171. Average total diversions are about 4000 acre-feet per year.
