In other words, the imposition of
these minimum flows will not detract from the
benefits to accrue from that project. This
report has been sent to our Washington Com-
missioner for their study and evaluation.

I

On the Narrows Unit, we have partially
touched upon that by the report of the Steer-
ing Committee and we've been actively working
with the Steering Committee furnishing basic
data and are now ready to begin some actual
hydrologic studies based on the data furnished
by the Steering Committee. They have been con-
centrated,of course, largely in the field of
hydrology and the work so far has been the
assembling of data and the preparing of the
basic operation studies to examine the po-
tential upstream exchange possibilities for
both the Narrows and Weld County sites. That
is in conformance with previous discussion
here this morning. The engineers of your staff
have prepared tabulations on the 'daily ditch/
diversions for the period 1952-1957 for ditches
diverting from the South Platte River between
Denver and Fort Morgan. We have determined the
quantities of water pumped and used on these
land areas during the same period; delineated
the total land area by various land uses such
as irrigated, dry-farmed, etc., and estimated
the quantities of water from the unmeasured
tributary inflows and those places where it takes
special determination without records. Those
have an influence on historic water utiliza-
tion in that part of the basin and that part
of the studies is now ready for actual specif-
ic studies in examining the exchange potentials.

On the Cache la Poudre Unit, we have just
barely gotten started on our work there. The
initi~al investigational activities consisted
of a review of data contained in the South
Platte River Basin Report to ascertain what
portion of those studies are usuable in the
present investigation.
