.t.//;j~

Wilderness Bill. You have a report on
that from Mr. Hamburg in your folders.

I

The Director calls to my attention
that the Wilderness Bill will probably take
a good deal of discussion and rather than
cut it short I think. we may defer this until
after lunch. I might announce to the Board
that we're meeting for the usual luncheon
meeting at 12:15 at the Argonaut, and inas-
much as this will be a long meeting today,
I'll hope that we can all be back by 1: 30.
So if it's agreeable to the Board, I'm
going to bypass, temporarily, item #5 and
ask now for the reports of the Federal
agencies. Jim Knights, are you going to
report from Region 7?"

MR. KNIGHTS:

"I can. First, Mr. Chaixman, I would
like to announce, as you know from the last
meeting, that the Area Engineer of the Denver
Development Office was transferred to Thailand;
Joe Barrett, and we have now permanently re-
placeJ.Mr. Barrett with M. J. Greer who entered
on duty on December 4th. Mr. Greer is an old
Bureau employee, having served some 23 years
with the Bureau up to 1958 when he entered
private employment in which he was engaged
until this appointment on December 4th. We
are most fortunate, I think, in having Mr.
Greer in this position. He spent some 16
years, I believe it was, something like that,
on the Colorado-Big Thompson Project. He is
a graduate of Colorado University and most
familiar with all our problems in eastern
Colorado and western Colorado as wel!."

I MR. STAPLETON: "Would Mr. Greer stand up? Nice to have
you with us. We will be delighted to work
with you in the future."
MR. GREER: "Thank you. "
MR. STAPLETON: "What do we hear from Joe? Is he
enjoying Thailand, by the way?"
