<br />, <br /> <br />-, <br /> <br />Members, CWCB and Rod Kuharich <br />November 16, 2004 <br />Page 3 of4 <br /> <br />At its December 3rd meeting, the Authority Board will be reviewing loan applications from the <br />town of Fort Lupton ($2.1 million for water rights acquisition) and the Plum Creek Wastewater <br />Authority ($2.0 million for land acquisition), <br /> <br />Animas - La Plata Proiect! La Plata Escrow <br /> <br />As proposed in the President's budget, the Bureau of Reclamation is expecting to receive $52 <br />million for FY2005 construction activities on the Animas-La Plata Project and $8 million for the <br />Tribal Development Fund. <br /> <br />On September 30, the Bureau of Reclamation gave the Authority Board and staff a tour of the <br />project. The project is going well and costs remain within the $500,000,000 budget. The project <br />is estimated to be 20% complete, <br /> <br />Work is continuing on Phase II of the Long Hollow dam and reservoir feasibility study. Phase II <br />focuses on geotechnical, hydrological and design activities, At the Board's October I meeting in <br />Durango, the consultant reported on the study's progress and indicated that there were sufficient <br />funds remaining to complete the Phase II work. <br /> <br />Board Appointments <br /> <br />As indicated in my March report, Dick Pryor of Grand Junction, representing the Colorado River <br />main stem, submitted his resignation on March 1. Subsequently, Steve LaBonde of Grand <br />Junction was appointed by the governor and confirmed by the senate, <br /> <br />On September 30, the governor appointed Barbara Green of Denver to replace Sara Duncan for <br />the City and County of Denver position and Patricia Vice of Genoa to replace Louis Rinaldo for <br />the South Platte drainage basin position, Confirmation hearings will likely occur in January. <br /> <br />Future Board Meetines <br /> <br />December 3 - Denver <br />January 28 - Denver (in conjunction with the Colorado Water Congress Convention) <br />March 4 - Denver <br />April 22 - Denver <br />
