C. <br /> <br />March 20, 1975 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Colorado Water Conservation Board met, pursuant to notice, at <br />9:10 a.m., Benjamin F. Stapleton, Chairman, presiding. <br /> <br />Mr. Sta~leton: The scheduled meeting of the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board w 11 come to order. <br /> <br />I would like to first make the request that any of you that intend to <br />speak please give your name, whom you represent, and so forth. to <br />Mrs. Martel at the table to the right, so that she and the reporter can <br />have the exact spelling of your name and title. <br /> <br />I would like to introduce to you the members of the Colorado Water Con- <br />servation Board at this time. I will ask them to stand so that you <br />can identify them for this meeting. Mr. Hugh Pickrel. Herbert Vandemoer. <br />Lee Ford. John Fetcher, Frederick Kroeger, the Vice-Chairman of our <br />Board; Mr. Sparks, the Director to my right; Mr. Quincy Cornelius, <br />Clarence Burr. Clarence Kuiper, State Engineer; Ray Moses, David Robbins. <br />Harris Sherman. Mr. John Benton is the only member of the Board absent; <br />we have a fine representation. I don't know at this time if any members <br />of the staff of the Senators and Congressmen are here. If they are. <br />would you identify yourselves for the record. so that we may have that. <br />please. . <br /> <br />Mr. McCabe: Mike McCabe. Senator Hart's office, <br /> <br />Ms. Davi<4te: Carol Davidge. Senator Hart's office. <br /> <br />Mr. Stasleton: Before we begin the meeting. I would like <br />letter ated March 17, 1975, addressed to the Cbairman of <br />Water Conservation Board from Governor Lamm. <br /> <br />to read a <br />the Colorado <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />"I regret that I will be unable to attend the meeting of the <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board with our congressional Delegates and <br />other interested parties in Washington on March 20. It promises to be <br />a very significant and important meeting and 1 wish you every success <br />in your attempt..to define our position on Colorado's reclamation <br />projects. <br /> <br />"I am encouraged by the President's budget which appears to insure <br />Executive cooperation in Colorado's efforts to protect our interstate <br />water rights and to assist in developing our water resources. I am <br />particularly encouraged by recommendation of construction funds for the <br />Savery-Pot Hook, Fruitland Mesa and Narrows Projects which will bring <br />much needed agricultural benefits to the state. Additional requests <br />for Closed Basin advance planning and Dolores construction funds would <br />have my backing and support. <br />
