North Poudre Irrillation Comnanv Reservoirs No.4. 5 and Indian Creek Rehabilitation <br /> <br />Authorization: HB 98-173 <br />Water Source: Cache La Poudre <br />Terms of Loan: $1,107,000@4.D4%for20yrs. <br /> <br />County: Weld - N. ofFort Collins <br />Project Yield: 9,363 acre feet <br />Project Type: Reservoir Rehabilitation. <br /> <br />This project involves the rehabilitation of Reservoirs 4, 5 and Indian Creek. The Irrigation <br />Company has retained the services of Smith Geoteclmica1, out of Fort Collins, Colorado to prepare <br />design plans and specifications for the proposed improvements. Improvements to Reservoir No. 5 <br />were designed and completed in 1999. Indian Creek and No. Reservoirs are currently Wlder <br />design. The proposed improvements to Indian Creek Reservoir involve a new 500-ft. long <br />spillway, replacement of the outlet structure, new toe drains, and reshaping the downstream dam <br />face. The proposed improvements to Reservoir No. 4 include, relocation of the spillway to the <br />center of the dam, replacing the existing outlet structure and Parshall flume, new toe drains, rip rap <br />placement, and reshaping the upstream face of the dam. Construction of Reservoir 4 and Indian <br />Creek are tentatively scheduied to occur ill the Fall of 200 1. <br /> <br />9. Owl Creek SUt~ply and Ditch Comnanv Hydraulic Structure Rehabilitation <br /> <br />Authorization: HB 00-1419 <br />Water Source: Cache La Poudre <br />Terms of Loan: $450,000 @ 4.00% for 30-years <br /> <br />COWlty: Weld - N. of Greeley <br />Project Yield: 30,000 acre feet <br />Project Type: Structure Rehabilitation <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The Owl Creek Supply and Irrigation Company operates and maintains 12 miles of the Owl <br />Creek Ditch. The existing hydraulic structures along the 12 miles of ditch, such as; check <br />structures, drop structures, measuring weirs, flumes, gates, etc., have severely deteriorated over the <br />years and are in the need of replacement. The proposed project involves the replacement of 14 <br />major structures, 55 flumes, 10 meter gates, and 30 headgates, to be designed by Smith <br />Geotechnical, Ft. Collins, Colorado. Construction is tentatively scheduled to conunence in the Fall <br />of 200 l. <br /> <br />10. EI Paso County Water Authority County Water Master Plan <br /> <br />Authorization: Grant <br />Water Source: nla <br />Terms of Loan: $200,000 <br /> <br />COWlty: EI Paso <br />Project Yield: nla <br />Project Type: Water Master Plan <br /> <br />This project is a five year program of technical studies aimed at the development of a <br />long range, countywide water master pian. The pUrpose of the plan is to develop water <br />resources, systems, and facilities in whole or in part for the benefit of the Authority members <br />and their inhabitants, and other residents of the county, now and into the future. The County <br />is currently focusing on eight study areas; EI Paso County water resources, potential water . <br />import projects, optimum county water distribution infrastructure, water plan for private well <br />owners, water reuse projects, synergistic projects with Colorado Springs utilities, other <br />studies, and an overall project master plan summary. The frrst two areas have been completed <br />and the Water Authority is currently working in the area of optimum county water distribution <br />
