That project <br />is moving along and there is a possibility that <br />the Corps will request authorization of that <br />project next year in an omnibus bill. I thiru< <br />we will, within a short time, come up with a <br />project in the Las Animas area. This was <br />occasioned primarily by John Martin Reservoir <br />raising the level of the river in the vicinity <br />of Las Animas. Because of the sediment deposits <br />a flood hazard has been created in the vicinity <br />of Las Animas and it will take channelization, <br />some levees, and protective works in the vicin- <br />ity of Las Animas to afford that city protection. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Out of the Omaha office, they have been <br />quite active in various flood studies on the <br />
