As part of this pilot effort, the GMUG National Forest is proposing that the Board
consider Dyke Creek, from its headwaters to the Bell Ranch Diversion No. I headgate, for a
Colorado instream flow water right pursuant to Rule 5.40 of 37-92-102 (3) C.R.S. This would
provide protection on 5.2 miles of stream.

Mr. Dan Merriman
Chief, Lake and Stream Protection Program
Colorado Water Conservation Board
1313 Sherman Street
Suite 721
Denver, CO 80203

Dyke Creek is a perennial stream located entirely on National Forest System lands. The attached
executive summary report characterizes the aquatic conditions and values of this stream and
provides the basis for our recommendation to be considered by the Board, The GMUG staff,
working with the assistance and guidance of your staff, believes the submitted information is
consistent with the needs of the Instream Flow Program to support the findings you are required
to make for an instream flow water right.

Attached is a copy of the instream flow recommendation report. An electronic copy can be
obtained by contacting our Forest Hydrologist, John Almy, at 970-874-6656 or ialmy(ii)fs, fed,lIs.
The GMUG appreciates the support and assistance the CWCB staff has given to the Forest
Service with the Pathfinder Project and this effort.
