<br />72 <br /> <br />Department of Agriculture, or othe~vise obtainec,to determine the effect of <br />the plan on water rights on the Fountain and Arkansas Rivers and on the <br />ability of Colorado to meet its obligations under the Arkansas River Compact. <br /> <br />After discussion of the report of the Department of Agriculture I <br />on the proposed plan of watershed development in the basin of the <br />Fountain River, a'tributary of the Arkansas River in Colorado, it <br />was moved by George Fughe and seconded by A. E. Headlee and John <br />Beaty that the Colorado Water Conservation Board object to and <br />oppose carIJ'ing out the plans set forth in the report until ade- <br />quate data, studies and inforcation were made available by the <br />Oepartment of Agriculture, or through other s0urces, to determine <br />the effect of the plan on water riGhts held Qy Colorado. citizens <br />on the Fountain and Arkansas Rivers in Colorado, and also until <br />the effect of the operation of such plan on Colorado's ability to meet <br />its obligations under the Arkansas River Compact. had been determined; <br />that Colorado should oppose any effort for authorization of the plan <br />by Congress Q~til the matters mentioned herein are resolved; and <br />that the Director is authorized to submit comments. to the Secretary <br />of Agriculture to this effect. <br /> <br />On vote being taken, the motion was carried unanimously and <br />declared adopted. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 4 p.m., on May 5, 1952. <br /> <br />Ge~ <br /> <br />Vice-Chairman <br /> <br />ATTSST: <br /> <br />Clifford II.
