"l'lhat we would actually do is enter into a
contract with the Bureau of Reclamation in the
sum of $16,600 and on the Upper Gunnison in the
sum of $7,200, of which $6,600 would come from
local interests on the ~10 Forks and $2,200 from
the local interests on the Upper Gunnison. On the
Upper Gunnison, the Colorado River Water Conser-
vation District was also a major contributor and
have already placed in our hands their check for
$1,000."

"loJould these be matching funds or \-lOuld the
investigations be limited to the funds we pro-
vide?"

"The investigation funds this year will be
limited to the funds that we provide. In follow-
ing years we anticipate that the federal govern-
ment will provide something in the neighborhood
of $300,000 to $400,000 for each of these two
projects."

"It is my recollection that the reason we
asked for contributions and help from the Gover-
nor is that the Bureau had nothing in their budget
for the investigation of these two projects in
this fiscal year. Is that correct?"

"That is correct."

"!-Jr. Chairman, I'd like to express my appre-
ciation to !-Jr. Sparks and !-Jr. Kuiper for the
aggressive manner in which they pursued the
previous recommendations of this Board. I would
like to move that the recommendations as pre-
sented on this item be approved."

"Is there any discussion? All those in favor
will signify by saying 'aye'; opposed - the
motion is carried unanimously.
