The request is to <br />provide matching dollars in order to take advantage of the large infusion of federal funds coming available <br />to Colorado potentially as early as next month. CWCB funds, if authorized by the Board and the General <br />Assembly, would be available for all phases of the technical and administrative needs for the proposed <br />floodplain studies and maps to be conducted on a statewide basis using the priority system that was <br />developed in the Colorado Map Modernization Implementation Plan. Matching funds will also be <br />required from the local entities to better allow the CWCB's funding to be leveraged against a vast amount <br />of federal funding, <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the Board request the General Assembly to authorize $500,000 from the <br />Construction Fund to be appropriated to the Colorado Water Conservation Board for statewide floodplain <br />mapping for the Colorado Map Modernization Implementation Program, <br /> <br />e L:I\boardmemlNovember 2002\Agenda-21+Water Supply P&F-Map Modernization <br /> <br />Flood Protection.
