I

I

Mr. Stapleton: I feel like you indicated. This specific resolution
has a lot of emotion and years and years of hot and heated litigation
behind it. But I don't think we can think in terms of just this
resolution itself. And I would like to have'You focus then if you
will, on if we' take a step like this now, 'What do you envision will
be the later consistent acts of the board in regard to other water
projects whatever they might be?

Mr. Killin: As a personal feeling, I would be apprehensiv~ that the
action of this board to enhance the use of wilderness areas for this
type of purpose could be adverse,

Mr. Stapleton: Is it hazardous enough that we should not pass this
resolution?

Mr. Killin: I am not in the position to make that statement.

Mr. Burr: Mr. Chairman.

Mr. Stapleton: Mr. Burr.

Mr. Burr: I have been a member of the Water Congress ever since it
was formed. Thank you.

Mr. Rollv Fischer: Mr. Chairman.

Mr. Stapleton: Rolly, I was hoping you would appear. Come right up
and talk with us.

Mr. Fischer: I was hoping that Si Berthelson would be here. I ~hink
that this matter is significant and I had hoped that Director
Berthelson would be able to attend.

Mr. Stapleton: As far as I know, he is on
indication to me that he wouldn't be. here.
we postpone our vote until we find him?

his way.
