RES 0 L U T I 0 N

WHEREAS, a floodplain information report entitled "Flood
Hazard Area Delineation, Dry Gulch and Tributaries," dated November,
1977, has been prepared by Sellards & Grigg, Inc., at the request
of the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District, the city of
Lakewood, and the city and county of Denver; and

WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain
data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels or
basins of the study area; and

WHEREAS, the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District has
requested the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and
approve the floodplain areas as set forth in the aforesaid report;
and

WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes
1973, requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in
the prevention of floods and flood damageitherefrom; and

WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30728-111, Colorado
Revised Statutes 1973, provide that such legislativ~bodies of
local jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses
on or along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only
after designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation
Board; and

WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c), Colorado Revised
Statutes 1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to
designate and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins
and to make such designations available to legislative bodies of
local jurisdictions; and

WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report
and does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board
that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those areas
inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood) as
