El Paso County. Colorado." <br />dated September. 1976. has been prepared by the United States Army <br />Corps of Engineers. Albuquerque District. at the request of the <br />Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments and El Paso County; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS. said report describes and outlines the floodplain <br />data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels <br />or basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS. the Board of County Commissioners <br />County has requested the Colorado Water Conservation <br />ignate and approve the floodplain areas as set forth <br />said report; and <br /> <br />of El Paso <br />Board to des- <br />in the afore- <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />WHEREAS. Section 37-60-106(1). qolorado Revised Statutes <br />1973. requires the Colorado Water Conserva~ion Board to assist in <br />the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS. Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111. Colorado <br />Revised Statutes 1973. provide that such legislative bodies of <br />local jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses <br />on or along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only <br />after designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS. Section 37-60-106 (I) (c). Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973. directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to <br />designate and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins <br />and to make such designations available to legislative bodies of <br />local jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS. the staff of the Board has reviewed said report <br />and does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those areas <br />inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood) as <br />described by the floodwater surface elevations and prOfiles in said <br />report; <br /> <br />APPENDIX C <br />
