another look at some aspects of the Fruitland Mesa project, and we
will do the same for the Savery-Pot Hook. Rolly is entirely correct.
We: can't plow the same ground over'. and over. We have to change our
tactics a little. That is something that we should discuss at the
March meeting. We should:arrive at some possible solution prior.to
that time.

MR. ROLLY FISCHER: My board will discuss it next Tuesday.

MR. FETCHER: I think it would be informative if we could get a brief
overview of. the weather modification program. Is that possible,
Larry?

MR. SPARKS: Well, I'm getting sick of that program. (Laughter.)

MR. ROBBINS: You caused that roof in Connecticut to collapse!

MR. SPARKS: Yes. We are getting blamed for everything, whether there
is too little snow or too.much snow. :1 might give just a very brief.
rundown on the activity.

(At the map) As I pointed out earlier, that shows the general
configuration of ground generators. We are getting a number:of calls
and letters requesting: that we either turn the.damn.snow off or: turn.
it on somewhere. We are getting it both ways.

In the southeast, we are getting considerable pressure to put additional
generators in that area. We have had people from the lower end of the
Arkansas say, ''what are you doing for us today?" . We also got a call.
from. one of the commissioners up at Craig in Moffat County who was
-very:courteous.a~d nice:about it, but he suggested' that we do more for
Moffat County.. Then .we have received some calls. from Steamboat Springs
which haven't:been so friendly, and they say, "Shut the damn things
off. We've had enough."

MR. FETCHER:. Thank you.

I

MR; SPARKS: So we shut them off in the. Steamboat .area. .We have shut
down. generators from time to time based upon various factors; .one,: I
until we could analyze. a recent snowfall; and, two, because of. high
winds. As best as we can, we monitor these conditions on a twenty- .
four-hour basis every day.:

We are having a.difficult time trying to respond to the requests:for
additional generators. Actually, we have placed more. generators in
the southeast area than we think is justified by the circumstances.
However, that area has been desperately hit by the drought.
