In the summer of 2000 a slide occurred on the upstream slope of the dam <br />as water was being released for irrigation, The toe ofthe slide covered the upstream end of the outlet, <br />damaging it and leaving in inoperable, Northwest Colorado Consultants, Steamboat Springs, Colorado, are <br />currently working on design plans and specifications to rehabilitate the dam, The project is tentatively <br />scheduled for construction in the fall of 2002, <br /> <br />14, Silver Springs Trout FannlSherwood Trust - Trout Farm Rehabilitation <br /> <br />Authorization: Construction Fund <br />Water Source: R,D Corey Ditch <br />Terms of Loan: $365,000 @3% for 15-years <br /> <br />County: Montrose <br />Project Yield: N/A <br />Project Type: Rehabilitation <br /> <br />The Silver Springs Trout Farm is located 3 miles west of Montrose and is currently operated as a <br />commercial trout farm, The hatchery tested positive for whirling disease in 1997, at which time the owner <br />constructed raceways to mitigate the affects of the disease, at a cost of $367,000, Since the installation of the <br />raceways the hatchery has operated free of whirling disease, At this time the owner needs to rehabilitate the <br />water collections system and construct a predator control structure over the raceways at an estimated cost of <br />$58,000, The proposed CWCB loan is fund the new construction and to refl11ance debt already incurred by <br />the trout farm, The project is currently under design and is anticipated to go to construction in June of <br />2002, <br /> <br />15, Parker Water and Sanitation District <br /> <br />Authorization: Construction Fund County: Douglas <br />Water Source: Cheny Creek Project Yield: 16,200 acre-feet <br />Terms of Loan: $15,000,000 @4,75% for 20-years Project Type: Reservoir Construction <br /> <br />The Parker Water and Sanitation District is currently in the design phase to construct the Rueter Hess <br />Project for the storage of municipal water for its 7,924 customers, The new reservoir will provide terminal <br />storage for use within the District's existing 8,596-acre service area, The reservoir will be located 3 miles <br />southwest of Parker on Newlin Gulch, The proposed reservoir will be a Class I structure, 135 feet high, <br />impounding approximately 16,200 acre-feet of water.
