The Silt Water Conservancy District, located in Garfield County, operates Silt Project facilities for the
benefit of the District landowners/shareholders by providing direct flow and storage of irrigation water
for 6,591 acres of agricultural land. The Silt Project infrastructure includes reservoirs, canals, pump
plants, and irrigation laterals varying in age from 50 to 100 years old, and in need of rehabilitation.
This project involves rehabilitation work on the Grass Valley Canal, the Harvey Gap Dam, the Rifle
Gap Dam, and the Colorado River Pump Plant. The District delivers approximately 18,000 acre-feet
per year. The District has completed the feasibility study. Proposed funding for the project consists of
a $1,019,700 Small Project Loan and a $5,000 Feasibility Study Grant from the CWCB, and the
remainder from the District.
