<br />It is anticipated that participants will devote approximately 10 working days to the program over its 10-month length. <br />. Operations <br /> <br />The program will be guided by a Board of Directors composed of representatives of the following categories of <br />organizations: <br /> <br />. Water Education (e.g. Colorado Alliance for Water Education) <br />. Regional water providers/managers (e.g. Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District and Colorado River <br />Water Conservation District) <br />. Agricultural water users (e.g. North Sterling Irrigation District and San Luis Valley Irrigation District) <br />. Municipalities (Denver Water and Colorado Springs Utilities) <br />. Environmental organizations (e.g. Nature Conservancy and Natural Resources Defense Council) <br />. Industry (e.g. Coors and Kodak) <br />. Recreation (Rafting and skiing companies) <br />. Donors to Leadership Program <br /> <br />Participants <br /> <br />Participants may come from any sector of society and the program will strive to recruit diverse classes that may <br />include consultants, engineers, agriculturalists, economists, environmentalists, county commissioners, city council <br />members, legislators, agency personal, and natural resource managers <br /> <br />Participants will apply to the program and fifteen will be selected by the Board of Directors, each year, using the <br />following criteria: <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />1. <br />2. <br />3. <br />4. <br />S. <br /> <br />Geographical representation <br />Economic segment representation <br />Ethnic diversity <br />Leadership experience (1/3 Urban; 1/3 Agricultural, and 1/3 Environment) <br />Under the age of 40 <br /> <br />Participants, or their sponsoring organization, will pay tuition (expected to be approximately $1,500) to cover tour and <br />workshop costs. Travel to meeting sites will be the responsibility of the participants. <br /> <br />The Program will be co-directed by Reagan Waskom, Dan Smith and Robert Ward. The time of these directors will be <br />CSU's contribution to the program. The Program will hire a half-time staff person to advertise and promote the Water <br />Leaders Program, maintain a Water Leaders homepage, handle applications, coordinate participant selection, manage <br />the program's finances, identify mentors, schedule tour and meeting participation, organize the Board meetings, and <br />respond to inquiries and questions about the Program. <br /> <br />Annual Budget <br /> <br />Salaries: <br />Staff Assistant <br /> <br />$30,000 <br /> <br />Conference, Tour and Seminar Fees <br />Printing <br />Communications <br />Overhead (CSU's Off Campus rate 26%) <br /> <br />25,000 <br />4,000 <br />3,000 <br />27.900 <br />$89,900 <br /> <br />. <br />
