<br />development and implementation of a biologic monitoring plan to assess the health of the Snowmass Creek <br />fishery. DOW's draft biologic monitoring plan was completed and sent to the Corps on Dec 10,2001 for <br />distribution to the interested parties. To date, neither we por the DOW have received any comments on the <br />draft plan, ' <br /> <br />Colorado River Salinity Control Forum and Advisory Council: During the Colorado River Water Users <br />Association meeting the Salinity Workgroup met briefly to provide comments to Jack Barnett, the Executive <br />Director of the Forum, on an Advisory Council Report. They also reviewed the draft outline for the 2002 <br />Triennial Review, Colorado was asked to write its normal section on State Program Activities (NPDES <br />Permits, Water Quality Management Activities, and other activities), The Forum expects to complete a draft <br />Triennial report and release it for comments in Jnne. TheiBoard must review and comment on the 2002 <br />Triennial review. Subsequently, the Water Quality Contrbl Commission will also need to adopt the report as <br />part of the standard review process and obtain approval trom EP A. <br /> <br />The last item discussed was the BLM salinity program. aill Cary indicated he no longer wants to be the <br />Colorado River Salinity Control Program Coordinator an~ he will be replaced, It was suggested that BLM <br />might establish a Salinity Coordinator under the BLM state directors for Utah, Colorado and Wyoming to <br />administer the $800,000 line item BLM has for salinity work. It is likely that such a responsibility would be <br />assigned to one of the associate directors, <br /> <br />California Water Tours: The California Water Educatiqn Foundation is offering six tours in 2002, The <br />tours include: <br />. However, our motion for a continuance was graflted. Weare waiting for a new trial date to be set. <br /> <br />Upper Colorado River Commission Meeting: The Upp:er Colorado River Commission met in Las Vegas <br />on Dec. 12,2001. Prior to the meeting, the Legal and Engineer Committee met with Commissioners to <br />discuss the proposed Navajo-Gallup Project and the issue~ created by that proposal. No conclusions were <br />reached concerning the Project and Commission staff was directed to continue to work on the matter. <br />During the regular meeting, the Commission received reports from Reclamation, the Western Area Power <br />Administration, the Colorado River Salinity Control Fonim and the U,S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The <br />Commission also received the annual auditors' report anc\ a treasurer's report, A transcript and copies of the <br />materials received are available from the Commission. . <br /> <br />Seven Basin States Meeting: The seven Colorado RiveriBasin States will be meeting on January 16, 2002 <br />to discuss Colorado River Delta issues and the Navajo-G+llup Project. <br /> <br />Gunnison River Basin Issues <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />North Fork of the Gunnison River: The CWCB has provided funding for two projects on the North Fork ofa <br />the Gunnison River, The North Fork River Improvement' Association (NFRIA) is the grant recipient for both. <br />projects. $55,000 has been provided for a study of the p~tential role ofPaonia Reservoir in affecting river <br />i <br />i <br /> <br />10 <br />
