No. 98 <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />March 16, 1978 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br />- - - - <br /> <br />,WHEREAS, a floodplain information report entitled "Flood <br />Plain Information Report, Roaring Fork River & Colorado River, <br />G1enwood Springs, Colorado," dated November, 1977, has been prepared <br />by Gingery Associates, Inc., at the request of the. City of G1enwood <br />Springs, Colorado, and the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and <br />"- <br />WHEREAS, said report describes and~out1ines the floodplain <br />data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels <br />or basins of the study area; and ~ <br /> <br />. ..- <br />WHEREAS, the City of G1enwood Sprtngs has requested the <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board to designaEe'and approve the flood- <br />plain areas as set forth in the aforesaid report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in the <br />prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local juris- <br />dictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along any <br />storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after designation <br />and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and <br />approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to make such <br />designations available to legislative bodies of local jurisdictions; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report and <br />does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board that <br />the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those areas <br />inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood) as described <br />by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles in said report; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water Conser- <br />vation Board in regular meeting assembled in Denver, Colorado, this <br />16th day of March, 1978, that it does hereby designate and approve <br />as floodplain areas those areas described as being inundated by a <br />100-year flood as described by the floodwater surface elevations and <br />profiles in said report; and <br /> <br />APPENDIX C <br />
