Evans Acting Director, CWeB TO: Colorado Water Conservation Board Members FROM: Larry Lang DATE: April 30, 1998 SUBJECT: Agenda Item Sa, May 11, 1998, Board Meeting- Floodplain Designation and Approvals EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The Board staff presents 4 floodplain studies proposed for CWCB action, A brief summary of the studies is presented below. 1. FPR 98-463: A Flood Insurance Study (FIS), dated September 1987, was published by FEMA for the City of Longmont in Boulder County. The study includes detailed and approximate floodplain information for several streams in the community, 2, FPR 98-464: A Flood Insurance Study (FIS), dated February 1984, was published by FEMA for the City of Fort Collins in Larimer County, The study includes detailed floodplain information for several streams in the community, 3. FPR 98-465: A private engineering firm, Lidstone and Anderson, Inc., completed a Comprehensive Drainage Plan for the City of Greeley, dated October 1997. The studied stream reach for this report is Sheep Draw upstream of its confluence with the Cache La Poudre River. The results of this study replace the previous studies published by the Corps of Engineers, The CWCB staffwill assist the City with a map revision request to FEMA that will officially change the community's Flood Insurance Rate Map, 4, FPR 98-466: A Floodplain Information Report was completed for the Town of Lyons in April 1998, However, the Town is not ready at this time to proceed with designation action on this study, Therefore, any Board action on FPR 98-466 should be TABLED until the July 1998 Board meeting.
