<-

Water ~ailability. There is one decreed water right in this reach. The Upper Saxbury Ditch is decreed for2
5.24 cfs. A preliminary review of diversion records revealed that this ditch typically diverts between 2.0 and
2.5 cfs b een mid-April and mid-October. BLM's flow measurements, taken when ditches have been
operating, indicate that water should be available for the recommended flow amounts.

RelatiOthiP to Management Plans. The Little Dolores River represents one of the few self-sustaining
fisheries within a 100 square-mile area southwest of Grand Junction known as Glade Park. Once stream
barriers e removed and conditions are improved above and below this reach, it is possible that this reach
will serv as population base for recolonizing upper and lower reaches with fish populations,

The BLM requests that the Board recognize that this recommendation is based only upon the minimum flows
necessary to support cold-water fishery values. BLM may wish to work with the Board and/or through the
COloradtwater rights system to appropriate flows to optimally protect fish values and to protect other water-
depende t values specified in BLM resource management plans.

Data she ts, R2Cross output, fishel)' survey information, and photographs of the cross section are enclosed to
support is recommendation. We thank both the Division of Wildlife and the Water Conservation Board for
their cooperation in this effort.

If you hare any questions regarding our instream flow recommendation, please contact Roy Smith, Water
Rights S ecialist at 303-239-3940.

Sincerely,

X1~1l1 6'~ttt;aiJ-!

Linda M.
