I

MR. NELSON:
I MR. STAPLETON:
MR. NELSON:

MR. STAPLETON:

water supply for the proposed Homestake Project
and the Fryin9Pan-Arkansas project.

I'd like to call your attention to an
attached letter which accompanies this and which
I was remiss in not furnishing to the Board at
the time I received that letter which was in
January of this year. I think the pertinent
thing (this letter was directed to me from Jim
Knights), is this paragraph:

'These ,studies do not"contemplate any'c:hanges,
modifications, or integration of features of the
Western Slope Collection Systems of either project
or are they intended to increase the importation
potential of either project.'

This is what has prompted me not to object to
these coordination studies.

I think Larry, as usual, expressed himself
much better than I'm able to at the last meeting
~n stating that at present there is really nothing
for the Board to act on; that planning is iri
'progress; we don't know all of the details of the
planning; and we don't know yet whether they are
considering anything which would be in violation
of the rryingpan-Arkansas operating principles.
I don't think we are any further along on this
than we were at the last Board meeting and I think
it might be well yet to table this resolution
until we see what we are objecting to if the
Board objects to something. As it stands right
now we don't know."

"Mr. Chairman."

"Mr. Nelson."

"I would like to call on Mr. Frank Delaney,
the attorney for the Colorado River Water Con-
servation District, who wishes to make a state-
ment on this matter."

"Mr. Delaney."
