committed to an intense effort to compress that back so that we II be in
a pesition to- move. at the first of the' year and obtain the permissien,
to. make the constructien start', and Mr. Sherman has explained, in the

MR. STAPLETON: Let's ask Mr. Meek to finish his questien.

MR. MEEK: Mr. Chairman, in my statement, I made a mistake. I compared
us, that we were ready fer constructien with Dallas Creek. I meant that
we were ready for censtruction with Bestwick Park, some years ago.

MR. BENTON: I personally have the feeling that we are net getting real
definitive answers here today en when some of these things are going ,to
happen. Do you think by eur September meeting we'll be able to have
some mere definite answers? '

MR. CRANDALL: The drafts ef the envirenmental statement are due fer
completion in August, Mr. .Benten, and my present plan and commitment .is
to get the reviewers in eur Denver and Washingten offices together to
clear it at that time.

clicked and we're on our way.

MR. BENTON: De yeu think we might know whether the eriginal contract
is going to be all right by our September meeting?

I might also. suggest that in spite ef eur lapse, I think it weuld be
very, impertant that we have continuing communication with Mr.~ Sparks.
and his staff and Mr. Sherman representing the ether state agencies en
just what's happening on a day-te-day basis.

On Fruitland Mesa, for example, there has to be a final definition on
the mitigatien features for fish and wildlife, and this has not been
specified yet. So., we will have to have that in order to complete it,
and that's semething that we must get on with in the next week in erder
to meet this timetable. I've talked to Mr~ Reed abeut it, but we haven't
gotten down to specific acreages, requirements, and that sert of thing.
It's geing to take a high level of understanding and ceeperatien on all
matters.

MR. FETCHER: I weuld like a little more clarificatien abeut Savery-Pet
Heek. As I understand it, the reformulatien is.basically on the Savery
part ef the project, is that cerrect?
