No. 185 <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />February 5, 1982 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the United States Department of Agriculture, Soil <br />Conservation Service, completed in January, 1976, a floodplain <br />information report entitled "Flood Hazard Analyses, Portions of <br />Red Canyon Draw and Tributaries, Fremont County, Colorado"; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Board, as requested <br />by the Board of County Commissioners of Fremont County, by <br />resolution adopted January 14, 1976, approved and designated the <br />floodplains described in said report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a new report entitled "Floodplain Information <br />Report, NE Canon Drainage Area, Canon City, Colorado," dated <br />October, 1981, has been prepared by Great Divide Engineering & <br />Surveying at the request of the City of Canon City, Fremont <br />'County, and the Colorado Water Conservation Board, which report <br />updates and revises the previous information for the stream known <br />today as NE Canon Drainage; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain <br />data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels <br />or basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Canon City has requested the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board to designate and approve the floodplain <br />areas as set forth in the aforesaid report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />1973, requires <br />the prevention <br /> <br />Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in <br />of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or <br />along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after <br />designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board; and <br />
