<br /> <br />ACKNOWLEDGEMENT <br /> <br /> <br />The staff of the Colorado Water Conscrvation Board (CWCB) and the Board's Floodplain Rules and <br />Regulations Projcct Advisory Committee Membership rccognize that the FEMA Mapping Guidelines <br />and Specifications entitle "Appendix A - Guidancc for Aerial Mapping and Surveying meet or are <br />industry standard for floodplain mapping activitics. <br /> <br />Most of the specifications and instructions in thc CWCB Appendix A publication arc directly <br />applicable to the CWCB rcvision of the Rules and Rcgulations for Designation and Approval of <br />Floodplains in Colorado. To keep the intent and contcnt of Appendix A in conformance with a <br />particular reference to the respective rule, it is necessary that a common understanding exist for ccrtain <br />terms and their common usage in both documents. <br /> <br />These definitions and common usage will apply only in Appendix A. It is further understood that thc <br />definition of these common usage terms be identified and incorporated in thc CWCB Rules and <br />Regulations. <br /> <br />I. CWCB, Mapping Partner, and FEMA shall have the same understandinglintent regarding who <br />is who in its referencc with a guideline, specification, and instruction. <br />2. Project Officer, CWCB, and Statc Mapping Coordinator shall be considered interchangeable <br />in their rolc and duties. <br />3. Base mapping can be compiled and established by conventional photograrnmetry methods or <br />airborne remote-sensing technologies (LIDAR) <br />4.
