These measures include .. tunneling the new outlet conduit into the partially full reservoir, construction of the outlet works tower behind a coffer darn in the partially full reservoir and screening of the construction spillway and other construction water discharges from the reservoir. Our engineers have provided a comparison of the construction effort with and without the provision of a gamefish mitigation pool. This comparison has been used with the actual construction costs to determine the cost of this mitigation measure. Costs of the permanent fish containment screens and all related facilities are not part of this grant application. The project has been granted a Clean Water Act Section 404 permit by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, No. 200375136, dated February 11, 2005, a copy of which is enclosed for your reference. I have also included a copy of the 404 permit application as it discusses in more detail the impacts to the project area and mitigation measures than the actual permit. The description of the project, the summary of impacts, estimated project costs, and estimated mitigation costs are also included for your information and consideration.
