Evans <br />Acting Director, ewes <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />Final Notice - Intent to Appropriate Instream Flow Water Rights <br /> <br />The Colorado Water Conservation Board (CWCB) intends to appropriate instream flow water rights on <br />the attached list of Instream Flow (ISF) Recommendations in Water Division 5 (Colorado River <br />Drainage) at its next meeting in Denver, Colorado, in the morning on November 23, 1998. CWCB <br />meetings begin each day at 8:00 a.m. <br /> <br />Staff is recommending the CWCB determine: (a) a natural environment does exist on each stream; (b) <br />water is available for appropriation; ( c) the natural environment will be preserved to a reasonable degree <br />by the water available for the recommended appropriations; (d) there is a natural environment that can be <br />preserved to a reasonable degree with the recommended instream flow water right, if granted; and (e) <br />such natural environment can exist without material injury to other existing water rights. <br /> <br />Instream Flow Recommendations Investigations Files (Investigations Files) are available for public <br />review and staff is available to answer questions and note concerns at the above address and at the Board <br />meeting. Instream Flow Summary Reports are also available for review in the local area of concern at the <br />Division 5 Water Resources Office, 50633 US Hwy 6 & 24, Glenwood Springs, 970-945-5665. <br />Additional information regarding the current status of any instream flow recommendation can be found on <br />the CWCB's Internet Web Pages at the following address: <br />http://www.dnr.state.co.us/cwcb/isf/new_recs.htm <br /> <br />Should you wish to comment on any of the attached ISF Recommendations, you may do so by writing the <br />Board's staff at the address given above or by email atMark.Uppendahl@state.co.uslt should be noted <br />that while your appearance at the Board meeting is welcome, such an appearance is not necessary for your <br />concerns to be recognized. The staff will take your comments into account and, if you so request, will <br />present them to the Board in your absence. <br /> <br />To insure adequate notification of all interested parties, we are requesting that you share this notice with <br />any groups or individuals who you feel would have an interest in the attached ISF Recommendations.
