The Division is working on getting these in ~ format for the web site,

The group then identified the following distinguishing features:

. Large seasonal variations in flow and temperature.
. Variations in flow based on location and precipitation.
. Irrigation runoff dependent streams in addition to effluent dependent streams.
. Bank storage dependent streams,
. Headwaters state,
. Non-native flow from transbasin and non-tributary waters.
. Ephemeral/intermittent streams. '
. Unique geological features, i.e. marine shales,
. Naturally occurring nutrients, i.e. natural background,
. Different chemical composition of streams, specifically hardness, alkalinity and TDS,
. Receiving streams that can be toxic to aquatic life per WET testing criteria,
. Variability in biological diversity.
. Regional temperature differences,
. Hydrologic modifications
o Diversions
o Augmentations
o Dams
. Effluent dominated or dependent waters.
. Difference between free flowing streams and regulated streams,
. Different source waters, i.e. snow melt vs. spring fed
. Water uses that vary by season. ,
.
