Once these guidelines are in the hands of these county <br />water planners, it will be marketed to other counties in Colorado in an effort to provide this information <br />for their use. The further purpose is to inform well and septic system owners of system operation in <br />light oflocal geologic conditions with the goal of improving maintenance and water quality. <br /> <br />Water Planning Relationship: Maintenance of water systems and water quality has a direct effect <br />on water planning and management. Education helps to further these goals. <br /> <br />Recommendation: Staff gives a medium recommendation for the funding of this study because of its <br />importance to water planning efforts. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />A summary listing the projects and the recommended rankings follows as Attachment B. <br /> <br />FINAL RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />No action is needed on part A or B. <br /> <br />With respect to Part C, we recommend that you approve the staff ranking for each project and <br />direct us to allocate funding based on the amount of Severance Tax available within the CWCB's <br />five-percent share. We will not know exactly how much funding will be available until the <br />Executive Branch and the General Assembly act on proposals to divert a portion of Severance Tax <br />to the General Fund, place a cap on contribution into the Operational Account, or keep agency <br />funding static for other budgetary reasons. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />20 <br />
