GSOLIDATED

mutual water
~~

..

e

~

December 23, 1998

Colorado Water Conservation Board
State of Colorado
1313 Sherman Street, Room 721
Denver, Colorado 80203

Re: Proposed Fortune Dam and Reservoir

Dear Board Members:

The Consolidated Mutual Water Company (Consolidated) is
pleased to submit the above referenced project for funding
consideration under authority of Section 37-60-119 and 121,
C.R.S. The Feasibility Study was prepared by Consolidated's
staff under my direct supervision for the Colorado Water
Conservation Board's review.

The 254 acre project, located north of Colorado Highway 72 _
and west of Indiana Street, consists of three components: ~

1) A zoned earth dam embankment requiring about 3,600,000
yards of compacted material together with a 30 inch
inlet/outlet structure and other related items.

2) A 9,000 acre foot (+/-) reservoir pool resulting from the
excavation of the material for the dam embankment.

3) Thirty thousand (30,000) feet of
pipeline connecting this project to
structure at Consolidated's Fairmount
West 44th Avenue and McIntyre Street.

The total cost of the entire project is anticipated to be
about $21,000,000 and Consolidated is requesting 50% funding
or $10,000,000 to start construction in 1999. The project is
substantially designed and has been submitted to the State
Engineers Office for review. That review is expected to be
completed by spring of 1999.

30-inch and 24-inch
the existing infra-
Reservoir located at

As an alternative, we could move forward with $5,000,000 in
funding in 1999 and an additional $5,000,000 in the year
2000. In the event that the second year funding was not
available, we would need to use bank financing, which would _
increase the cost of the project. ~

THE CONSOUDATED MUTUAL WATER COMPANY
12700 West 27th Avenue' P.O.
