<br />Page 2 <br />Frenclunan Creek Flood Mitigation <br /> <br />3( <br /> <br />Request <br />At this time, the project partners are requesting a $2:5,000 grant from the CWCB construction <br />fund for a feasibility study (flood mitigation planning and engineering study) along Frenclunan <br />Creek. The purpose of the study is to utilize the reconhaissance-Ievel recommendations provided <br />by the Corps of Engineers so that final project deSignliand implementation can take place for the <br />identified priority sites. The City of Holyoke and Phi lips County are willing participants in the <br />funding package, and will provide cash and/or iJ-kind construction services once project <br />implementation begins. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />Staff recommends that the Board request the General Assembly to authorize $25,000 from the <br />Construction Fund to be appropriated to the Department of Natural Resources for allocation to <br />the City of Holyoke for the Frenclunan Creek Feasibility Study. <br /> <br />L:\boardmem~an200 1 \15.d <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Flood Protection.
