As a per- sonal matter I regret this very much. I certainly think we must bow to Dean Crawford's wishes in this matter." Dean Crawford explained that he had: sufficient annual leave accumulated to allow his last day of business' to be May 6th, but his termination date would be June 10th. He also apoke to the Board about the difficulty of securing qualified personnel under th~ present unsettled conditions surrounding Colorado State civil service. MR. MOSES: MR. STAPLETON: MR. CRAWFORD: MR. STAPLETON: I MR. MILLER: "I think a motion similar to the one made in connection with Mr. Tipton's resignation should be made. "Do you have anyone in:mind, Dean Crawford, whom you think should be your successor?" "Yes, I think Mr. Gildersleeve, our Chief Engineer, is very well qualified to take the position." "I move that we abide by the Dean's wishes and that we accept his retire- ment as of June 10, 1958, with the under- standing of the deep feeling of apprecia- tion of this Board and the State of Colo- rado for his very excellent services dur- ing the past five years, and that a reso- lution to this effect be tendered him." "Second the motion." The motion was unanimously passed.
