Background <br /> <br />Purpose <br /> <br />This section provides a brief overview of the water activity, including the type of project <br />and amount of funding being requested, and a statement of what the water activity is <br />intended to accomplish. It should describe the need for the water activity, the problems <br />and opportunities to be addressed, the expectations of the applicant(s), and why the <br />project is important to the project applicant(s). It should also discuss relevant project <br />history, if applicable, and any other relevant issues. lbis section should also contain the <br />information from the approving including the decision process by the roundtable that <br />lead to the recommendation for the water activity. A letter of support signed by the <br />chair of the roundtable must be included. <br /> <br />Study Area Description <br /> <br />The study arealservice area is generally the geographic area to be served by the proposed <br />water activity. The description should include the following items: <br /> <br />1) A narrative description of the subject area to include the county, the location of <br />towns or cities, topography, and locations of major streams. <br />2) An area map showing each of the items above, as well as the locations of <br />existing facilities, proposed project facilities and boundaries oflands to be <br />served. <br />3) Socio-economic characteristics of the area such as population, employment and <br />land use.
