1-444

It is estimated that the total diversion
from the Williams River by Denver would
average about 33,000 acre feet per year.

It is also estimated that diversion from the
Fraser by the City of Denver would average
about 60,000 acre feet per year. Stuclies
also show that the replacement storage needed
for these two ~stems would average about
19,000 acre feet per year.

I

Studies of the Parshall Project indicate that
with the Unit operating as given in the Bureau
Report, except for 4000 acres of h nd in
the Blue River drainage, the average inflow
at Williams Fork Reservoir would be about
43,000 acre feet. Years of low run-off
like 1934, this inflow would be about
30,000 acre feet.

There are several other sites in western
Colorado which could possibly be used for
replacement for the City of Denver dive~sions.
There is a site near the mouth of Homestake
Creek on the Eagle River drainage of which the
capacity is about 100,000 acre feet. There is a
small site below the town of Kremmling at the
head of Gore Canon which would Sore about 15,000
acre feet. There is another place below the
Kremmling site, known as the Sheephorn site,
in Gore Canon. Then, too, there is a site at
Dotsero below the mouth of the Eagle which would
provide some storage."

MR. CRAWFORD: "What is the capacity of Sheephorn?"

MR. SMITH:

MR. BAILEY:

MR. NELSON:

"It has never been mapped. Mr. Gildersleeve
and I looked at it and we thought 20.feetto
the mile might be the slope. I think there
could be 50,000 acre feet without movement of the
railroad."

"Thank you. I believe the Colorado Water Board
has approved the Parshall Project. I would
hesitate to ask the Board to take any action
without asking Denver to be rep~ese~ted."

I

"I think the time has come to recognize
the priority of the participating projects."
