<br /> <br />Agenda Item 21(e) <br />May 21-22, 2001 Board Meeting <br />Page 4 of4 <br /> <br />and an operaling plan was proposed that had all releases passing through the generators at <br />Blue Mesa, Morrow Point and Crystal, However, during the meeting, the U.S. Fish and <br />Wildlife Service requested peak flows that would r~ult in up to lOO,OOO AF of bypass at <br />the Units, I have Bince learned that Reclamation h~ proposed a modest bypass of Crystal <br />only in the amount of approximately 7,000 AF to c~eate a small peak, We have worked <br />with DNR and sent letters to both Reclamation and ithe Service asking them to reconsider <br />and forego any peaking operations that would bypass the Aspinall Unit power plants, We <br />have had no response to this request at this time and we hope to be able to update you <br />further at the Board meeting on this matter, <br /> <br />Gunnison Basin Proerammatlc Biolol!ical Ol>inj~n (PBQ) <br />I <br />On January 31, 200l the first meeting for the PBl:) was held in Montrose. The USBR <br />will be preparing a water demand study detailing r~asonably foreseeable future water use <br />and depletions in the GunniBon Basin, The demand study should be completed by May <br />31.
