Senators Anderson and Yost
4/28/81
Page 3

We vigorously oppose the House version of S.B. 414,
which would allow the ColoradO River to be materially affected
or dried up in this critical reach. In addition, we believe that
a viable State minimum stream flow law is indispensable to the
development of water projects in the future. Sound planning,
engineering, construction and operation of water projects can
serve multi-purpose goals, including recreational and asthetic
uses. preservation of the aauatic environment to a reasonable
degree is one of the goals of the people of Colorado which can
be accommodated by future projects.

We strongly urge that the Senate not accede to the
House version and that a conference committee be established
for the purpose of returning ~o the Senate's version of S.B. 414.

snrelY, ~-~

J~~:r-
.. , ~, c..5 ~.

Gregory J.
